Tthe Cluster of Excellence PMI, together with different consortia of Kiel University, cordially invites its members to the online film event “Picture a Scientist” - Film Screening and Panel Discussion.
“Picture A Scientist chronicles the groundswell of researchers who are writing a new chapter for women scientists. Biologist Nancy Hopkins, chemist Raychelle Burks, and geologist Jane Willenbring lead viewers on a journey deep into their own experiences in the sciences, ranging from brutal harassment to years of subtle slights.”
The US American documentary is currently being discussed among global academic institutions. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the movie has not yet been released in German cinemas. We are therefore delighted to offer you an online film screening with access to the film fromSunday May 30th, 5.30 pm until Tuesday June 1st 2021, 5.30 pm (48h).
In addition, we would like to invite you to the follow-up Panel Discussionon Tuesday June 1st, 2021, 6.00 – 7.30 pm, to discuss the documentary, draw parallels with the German system and develop strategies for change in academic institutions.
