PMI Cluster Retreat 2023

Almost 130 members of the Cluster of Excellence "Precison Medicine in Chronic Inflammation" gathered at Plön Castle on September 26-28, 2023 for this year's retreat. This time, the internal meeting focused on the planned follow-up application as part of the Excellence Strategy. In the first part, the members presented new project ideas and took part in discussions, including with representatives of the Scientific Advisory Board. In the second part, the existing research areas were presented and critically examined in terms of their progress.

This year, six members of the Scientific Advisory Board were present or connected via video to give their qualified feedback after the presentations. They also provided this to the cluster in written form following the retreat.

During the retreat, the certificates were also presented to the four newly appointed Schleswig-Holstein Excellence Chairs. And two of the three winners of the 2021 Dorothea Erxleben Female Investigator Awards were on hand to present their project results from the funding.

The PMI Young Scientist Forum took place on the third day of the retreat. There, the cluster's young researchers discussed the strengths, challenges and potential improvements of the PMI Academy, also with regard to the follow-up application.
