Research projects
The research projects of the working group led by Carsten Schultz focus on the empirical identification of success factors of technology-based innovation projects and management approaches. In addition to cross-industry issues, innovations in the healthcare sector and in the context of public services are examined in particular. An interdisciplinary approach based on theories of organizational research and marketing is pursued.
The following issues are currently being addressed in several projects funded by the state of Schleswig-Holstein, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the EU:
- Introduction of AI-based innovations in the healthcare sector: Impact on doctors' threat perceptions and interactions with the hierarchy
- Relevance of data security for the acceptance of data-based smart mobility
- Regional contagion effects of the innovation behavior of hospitals
- Success factors of mission-oriented innovation ecosystems using the example of the BlueHealthTech and CAPTN initiatives
- Impact of the design of the working environment on the creativity of teams
- Success factors of idea management as a crowdsourcing approach
- Implementation and impact of lean management methods in hospitals
- Quantitative methods for early technology detection and explanation of the emergence and impact of scientific convergence
The aim of his research is to determine empirical evidence on the effectiveness of technology and innovation management methods and to derive implications for practice.
