PMI at Kieler Science Day 2026

On September 25, 2026, scientific institutions across many cities and regions in Europe will offer exciting insights into the world of research and innovation as part of European Researchers’ Night. The KielRegion will also be participating with its Science Day.

We’ll be there, too! Visit us at the RBZ Wirtschaft (Westring 444) starting at 3:00 p.m.

Discover Precision Medicine: The Latest in Inflammation Research
We’ll be on site between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at the RBZ Wirtschaft (Westring 444).

What lies behind chronic diseases? What role does inflammation play, and what does the microbiome have to do with it?
Find the answers at the PMI Cluster of Excellence booth.

We have activities for all ages: Our PMI scientists Laura Rathjens and Dr. Martina Guggeis will present the latest research findings. There’s even a prize to be won!

Younger visitors can enjoy arts and crafts and participate in hands-on activities focused on movement and health.

At the Global Microbiome Conservancy booth (AG Groussin/Poyet), a photo exhibition and an interactive map on the topic of the microbiome will be on display from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The researchers will explain how they’ve studied the gut microbiome of people around the world and what amazing things they’ve discovered in the process.
